1.RFID-based System for School Children Transportation Safety Enhancement

This paper presents a system to monitor pick-up/drop-off of school children to enhance the safety of children during the daily transportation from and to school. The system consists of two main units, a bus unit and a school unit. The bus unit the system is used to detect when a child boards or leaves the bus. This information is communicated to the school unit that identifies which of the children did not board or leave the bus and issues an alert message accordingly.

The system has a developed web-based database-driven application that facilities its management and provides useful information about the children to authorized personal. A complete prototype of the proposed system was implemented and tested to validate the system functionality. The results show that the system is promising for daily transportation safety.

2.Application of RFID Technology and the Maximum Spanning Tree Algorithm for Solving Vehicle Emissions in Cities on Internet of Things

The proportion of air pollution which is caused by the cars is increasing. In order to solve this serious problem, many countries and regions have already presented a series of emissions standards, meanwhile some methods has been developed, include update motor engine or improve the quality of the gasoline. However, these actions have not brought about a striking effect as we expect. There are also some situations to fail implement these emissions standards.

In this paper, a wireless inspection and notification system (WINS) through the concept of Internet of Things (IoT) is proposed. By applying the system, it is possible to smoothly realize a green traffic network. In this system, Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology as a low-cost and mature wireless communication method is adopted to collect and transmit emissions information of vehicles.

Moreover, The RFID devices need to be installed on the traffic lights so that reliable reading of emissions signals from a vehicle can be interrogated when the vehicles stop in front of the red light. Taken into consideration the real environment, an efficient and innovative maximum spanning tree algorithm (MXAST) is also presented to select suitable traffic lights aim to reduce the number of RFID devices (more economy) and guaranteed the whole urban cars can be monitored (simple & safety).

3.Vehicle Information Communication Safety Combined with Mobile RFID System

The related technologies of radio frequency identification (RFID) applications are interested these years. The reason is the breakthroughs in semiconductor and wireless technology, so that the size of RFID devices could be reduced within a small space. Thus for different application scenarios, RFID devices could be redesigned as various forms or behaviours to adapt.

The more added values provided by the RFID characteristic, the batter RFID applications are expected to compete with bar-code system in the future. In this paper, the RFID system has also been applied in vehicle information communication safety which uses wireless communications to provide passenger information and services. In this paper, the vehicle safety combined with mobile RFID system, which includes five functions.

The system composed of small tags embedded around vehicle, scanners also known as reader, Geographic Information System (GIS), mobile devices and Electronic Product Code (EPC) middleware. The middleware function is implemented to drive reader and connect server. The program of the system development has been ensured safety of passenger and vehicle safety real time.

4.Low Cost Assistive Outdoor Navigation System for Blind People

With over 39 million visually impaired people worldwide, the need for an assistive device that allows the blind user navigate freely is crucial. We have developed an off-line navigation device that uses 3-D sounds to provide navigation instructions to the user. Our device relays directional information to the user through special Audio Bone headphones, which use bone conduction technology.

Sounds are recorded and can therefore be selected by the blind user. Navigation processing is handled by a Raspberry Pi. We are using a magnetic compass and gyroscope to calculate the direction that the user is facing. Route queries of the destination address are geocoded using the Geocoder-US module and passed to the Mo Nav module to generate a pedestrian route.

Additional capabilities of the device include speech recognition and voice prompts for obtaining the user's desired destination address. The user can input the address b y speaking into a microphone. The entire system is mounted to a pack that sits on the user's waist. It is very light and portable and it does not impede any of the user's senses while it is being used.

5.A Group Tour Guide System with RFIDS and Wireless Sensor Networks

This paper proposes a new application framework for group tour guiding services based on RFIDs and wireless sensor network. We consider a sensing field mixed with multiple independent tourist groups, each with a leader and several members. Members of a group will follow the moving path of their leader, but may occasionally roam around randomly based on their interest.

Sensor nodes have to track leaders' locations and maintain following paths from members to leaders. A member may ask where his/her leader is, and a leader may "recall" his/her members. We propose a feasible solution to such an application by using existing technologies. A group guiding protocol is presented. The design enables reliable group guiding at low cost and low traffic load.

6.Voice Actuated Speaker-Dependent Control System For Hospital Bed

The main aim of this project is to provide a view of the patient information for each occupied or unoccupied bed (room type, sex, location, etc.) and, with user definable color coding, displays the bed status. Additional bed information is available by simply clicking on the bed to open a window displaying patient name, doctor name, isolation, special instructions and more.

7.RFID & GSM based intelligent courier mail box system

Our conventional postal systems are inefficient, difficult to track and slow in service. This project provides a solution for improving postal services enabling Secured Postal Data Communication with the help of RFID technology which is one of the best proved wireless technologies.

The main concept of this project is to keep track of the post from the dispatch place until it reaches the designated person. When the courier/post is transported from one location to other location, its current location will be updated to the recipient of the courier with the help of GSM and GPS. The usual practice of sticking the stamps on the each postal cover will be replaced by passive RFID tags.

8.Wireless car access and tracking system

This project is used to find the location of a car using Global Positioning Of Satellite Systems and GSM. The user interacts with the vehicle by means of GSM mobile the valid message sent and the authenticated message is received by the GSM module mounted in the vehicle. If the message is a valid message then the GPS modem is initiated and requested for the location. The latitude and longitude values are compared with the values stored in the memory and corresponding location name is given to the Controller which in turn uses GSM/GPRS to send the location name by means of Short Message Service back to USER.

9.RFID and Zigbee Based Library Management And Theft Control

An embedded system is a special-purpose computer system designed to perform a dedicated function. Since the system is dedicated to specific tasks, design engineers can optimize it, reducing the size and cost of the product. Embedded system comprises of both hardware and software. Embedded system is fast growing technology in various fields like industrial automation, home appliances, automobiles, aeronautics etc.

Embedded technology uses PC or a controller to do the specified task and the programming is done using assembly language programming or embedded C.The Consumer Electronics is the essential part of the Embedded System to help the people. An average person uses about 50 Embedded System every Day. It mainly used in automation for the home people. In day today life we are using many hidden embedded products like washing machine, mobile, TV remote etc.

10.Vehicular Networking and Traffic Congestion System

Vehicle traffic congestion is reflected as delays while traveling. Traffic congestion has a number of negative effects and is a major problem in today's society. Several techniques have been deployed to deal with this problem. In this paper, we have proposed an innovative approach to deal with the problem of traffic congestion using the characteristics of vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANET).

We have used the adaptive proportional integral rate controller, a congestion control algorithm designed for the Internet, to deal with the problem of vehicle traffic congestion in vehicular networks. The adaptive PI rate controller is a rate based controller that employs control theory to manage the problem of data traffic congestion in computer networks. Using simulations we have demonstrated the applicability of the algorithm in the domain of vehicle traffic congestion in a VANET.

11.The Autonomous Recognition of Left behind Passengers in Parked Vehicles

Several researches determined that hyperthermia (heat stroke) is an underestimated risk which can lead to serious injuries or even to death. In the U. S., between 1998 and 2009, 444 left behind children in cars died due to hyperthermia. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration initiated a research which shows that hyperthermia is the second leading cause of death for children in non-traffic fatalities in the U. S. (19.6 %); the first one is backover (49.5 %).

Most of these tragedies could be prevented by not leaving children unattended in motor vehicles. Most of the car owners/drivers do underestimate how fast and high the temperature inside a vehicle can increase on a normal summer day.In this project we our aim is to design a system that can identify a unattended child in the vehicle and intimate the user about the same so that condition like hyperthermia can be avoided.

12.Implementation of Mobile Technology for Atomization of Vehicle Parking System

This project is designed to automate the parking system, make the current parking system more user friendly and easier to use. Here the user has to first reserve a parking slot for him/her by requesting for a parking slot through SMS. After requesting for a slot the user is give an authentication password to be entered at the parking slot to get access to the parking slot.

The controller performs all the activities like reservation, gate operation, cost calculation etc.. IR sensors are present at each gate to sense the presence of vehicle and aid the hardware to perform appropriate actions. The communication medium between the user and the hardware module is the GSM modem, by using which the user and the hardware module can communicate by using SMS (Short Message Service) formats.
